Carpet Cleaning:
Office carpets are subjected to a steady stream of foot traffic every day. Add to that the dirt and dust is tracked into them, coffee spills, and it doesn’t take long for them to acquire patches of stains and discoloration that simply refuse to go away. A clean carpet makes for a healthy office environment which will boost employee moral and production.
We offer extraction carpet cleaning, also called hot water extraction. We use the industries best machinery and products for our carpet care solution. The procedure involves spraying the carpet with hot water using a spraying machine while simultaneously vacuuming the dislodged dirt and debris using a vacuum cleaner. Very little or no detergent is added to the hot water. This method of carpet cleaning is ideally suited for commercial cleaning applications because the hot water dries quickly and offices can be cleaned at night and are available for occupancy the next morning. Carpets should be cleaned once per year and spot cleaned every quarter to provide a clean and safe work space.
VCT Floor Stripping and waxing:
Due to its high resilience and durability features, VCT flooring is a very popular choice for high traffic areas. VCT is the short form of vinyl composite tile. VCT has been around for many years and are mostly common in hospital hallways, commercial buildings and daycares. It’s an easy to maintain floor as a daily routine of sweeping or vacuuming will keep your floors neat and clean. Once a week, you may want to do a thorough cleaning of the floors with warm soapy water and a mop. Once your floor starts to shows signs of losing its shine and glow, it’s time to take steps to maintain your VCT floor. You may be familiar with terms such as strip and wax. We will explain to you how to strip & wax VCT floors.
Stripping and waxing is the term used to refer to the removal of existing wax on your floor and applying new wax. Stripping is usually recommended when your VCT floor show signs of lost shine and scuffs as it involve an intensive labor process where machines that run on 175 rpm are brought to remove the wax. Below are 8 steps to assist you with this endeavor.
Step 1 – Stripper preparation
It’s advised to take protective measures as wearing of rubber gloves is highly advocated to protect your skin from possible irritation. Use a bucket to prepare the stripper according to the manufacturer’s instruction. It is very important that the dilution ration is followed accordingly.
Step 2 – Determine your plan of attack
Plan your engagement plan on how you intend to conduct the process. Make sure that when you start using your low-speed scrubber, you scrub the areas prior to stepping on. This greatly reduces the risk of slipping .
Step 3- Apply the Stripper
Wearing rubber boots, saturate the flour with the stripper mixture using a mop to spreading it over the entire floor. Apply more of the stripper agent to sustain the process as you give the solution time to strip the previous wax.
Step 4 – Use a Low Speed Scrubber (Side by Side)
To strip the previous wax on the floor, attach a stripping pad (black pad) onto the floor scrubber and start scrubbing the floors in small sections. A cotton rag may come in handy to wipe away splatters that may occur on the walls and doors. Change the stripping pad (flip to use other side) once you notice a decline in efficiency.
Step 5 – Clean the Floor
Use a dry vacuum to get rid of the loose wax from the floor. Remember to safely dispose the remaining stripper and do a thorough cleanup of the bucket and mop using hot soapy water. Rinse the mop with plenty of water to ensure the maximum removal of any wax or stripper remaining. Place the mop outside.
Step 6 – Application of Wax
You will need a bucket with VCT floor wax and a clean mop. Dip the mop into the wax and apply it onto the floor in small sections. This is to allow you to be comfortable while working and avoid overstretching.
Step 7 – Make sure the area is well ventilated
Make sure all windows and doors are open and if possible turn on the fan. Most wax finishes are not harmful as stripping solution, but they can also cause health problems if too many fumes are inhaled.
Step 8 – Allow the wax to dry completely
The wax could dry in fifteen to thirty minutes depending on the day’s weather and humidity. Having a fan proving good air movement will accelerate the drying process. Take note not to point the fan directly at the floor as it has the potential of messing the wax settling process.
